Yamuloong - Windale Hub
“Yamuloong” is a suspended artwork that is colourful, impactful and unique. As a mobile the artwork will move gently, the lightweight elements gentle dynamism, shifted by soft air movements in the space. Multitudinous colourful elements flutter in the air, interspersed with symbols for ‘gather’, ‘learn’, connect’ and ‘celebrate’. Cascades of mobile elements form a sculptural centrepiece, which when viewed from underneath forms the symbol for ‘gathering circle’. The artwork will form a striking centrepiece for the Windale Hub Bilyabayi.
The large mobile elements is made from powder coated, perforated aluminium in colours from Saretta’s paintings. The custom perforations create organic variations in tone and translucency, and the elements – including the large ‘gathering circle’ symbols, hand beaten into 3d forms that reflect the organic symbols in Saretta’s paintings. The small elements are made from non-toxic, thermoformed polyethylene, balanced with bronze wire.
You can view Yamuloong at the Windale Community Hub.
